The Every Story Matters finale was at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2022. We presented our project’s results and conclusions, showcased our authors & illustrators, and presented their stories made during our talent development programme.

Belgium, The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia & Germany

This programme guides six talented writers and illustrators from six different European countries to produce inclusive stories for children. Each participant was matched to a mentor, who is an experienced author or illustrator. During the programme, the participants followed workshops and online masterclasses to deepen their knowledge of inclusive storytelling.

The promotion of manuscripts created by participants of the Talent development program will be promoted at Zagreb Book Festival 2022. All of the participants and mentors will talked about their experiences working in the program and read or showed parts of their work.

2020 - 2021

Portugal

In 2020 & 2021, Every Story Matters organised 15 workshops for librarians and teachers. In various libraries in Portugal, we focused on bibliodiversity. How can reading mediators offer a plurality of voices to their readers? What limitations do they face?

B2B meeting Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2021

Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the planned networking event by Every Story Matters at the Bologna Book Fair 2021 could not take place in live form. 

Instead, we replaced them with two fascinating online lectures with experts who will tell you more about different aspects of diversity and inclusion, how to understand these concepts and how modern technology can help us put them into practice.

School Workshops

 March to November 2020

Berlin, Germany

5 workshops in digital storytelling trained around 50 children and young adults. 

Each student created a short story on paper, combining drawing, collage, text writing, and multimedia content using the augmented reality technique. The workshop gave the students a basic understanding of digital narratives, storytelling, and the importance of inclusion.
